UNPLANNED The Movie

Dear Sweet Friends,

It has been quite a while since I have written. I have missed communicating my heart to YOU. Pro- life work keeps you extremely busy and my work is demanding, but worth every effort, every battle, every heartache, and every sacrifice!

I recently seen the movie UNPLANNED. My husband and I rode home almost speechless. I have spent days processing it and settling the many emotions I have experienced. I have came to some conclusions. God asked me to write about it. Seeing how He has me up at 2:am I’m guessing now is the time:)

First of all, let me say, I encourage everyone to see the movie. Why? It is so informative, truthful, and might I say necessary to bring about awareness  of what abortion is and the devastation it brings to the unborn and women.

Second, As a post abortion woman myself, I found it difficult to watch even with the depth of healing I have had. However, I am very thankful for Abby Johnson’s story and her boldness to share it the way she does. God is using it in a mighty way. He works all things for good, for those called according to His purpose, Romans 8:28. Even though Abby spent those 8 years blinded in planned parenthood, God called her out. He is now using it all for His good. He is using it to reveal TRUTH. Had she not stayed in there as long as she had, she wouldn’t have seen and experienced all the things in which she shares in her story. To God be the Glory!

Third, I left feeling deeply burdened for all the post abortive women that will or have already seen this film and have had no healing from their past abortion. Healing from abortion is a process and it needs to be done in a safe, non judgmental environment with loving mentors that understand what the post abortive woman has experienced. There is an outpouring of love, mercy, and forgiveness, that needs to take place first from our Heavenly Father and second from others around her. Abortion scars deeply. It is traumatic. Facing it can be traumatic as well and anyone needing to heal requires the Word of God applied to their life as a healing balm.

I am thankful for the resource given at the end of the film for those needing healing and for Abby Johnson actively speaking to the hurting and giving them hope for healing. My prayer is that all post abortive women who will see this film (and there will be many) will contact the resource given or that God will intervene in another way and draw their heart to healing which I KNOW is His will. Yes! I am praying for a pool of healing and that is exactly what the Lord has been telling me is going to happen. I am so thankful for how God healed and restored my broken heart after abortion and I want the same for all others.

Please contact me personally and I will help you find it, or contact your local pro life pregnancy care center and they can help you too. I pray for your courage to talk to someone. I promise, there is a life changing miracle awaiting you! Don’t fear. That is the enemy speaking. God wants to give you a new heart and new spirit. Ezekiel 36:25,26.  He will sprinkle clean water on you. He will make you white as snow. By His stripes you are healed, He has already bought your freedom and the power of sin has been overcome! God needs you to be willing. He is seeking YOU out. I can’t help you, until you make the choice to just reach out. Come sweet friend, Come.

If you are reading this and you are considering abortion. Please stop and seek proper guidance. I am praying for you right now in this moment. You deserve to know truth and owe it to your yourself to be fully informed BEFORE you make a decision that will change your life forever. Abortion is not something you can ever take back or call a “redo” on. When a life is taken through abortion, it is permanent and the painful consequences are very real. I know because I have experienced them and I have been counseling women of all ages for years that have as well. Just recently, one of my clients, after all our efforts sadly chose abortion. She saw no other way. A few days later, she spoke these words “everything you said would happen, happened” She is in emotional pain and expressed deep regret, but is getting the help she needs to deal with her pain. Please contact your local pregnancy care center if you considering abortion and get the right care. Yes, you have a choice, but you also have a choice to choose better! I know your circumstances seem overwhelming, but there is help. Allow yourself to “feel” the joy that is deep inside of you because you are now a mother, and carrying a complete miracle and wonder in your womb. God has given him or her to YOU! for a purpose. So choose today to choose right, to choose life!

If you are reading this and you are a Pastor, please talk about abortion to your flock. Express the truth of what abortion does, it may save a life. Please know there are post abortion women in your care. They need to hear you talk about the forgiveness of abortion. Trust me, just hearing you talk about it will bring her great comfort when handled the right way and open up a door to get her the healing she needs. How do I know this? because I was that church going, serving woman in your church who was silently hurting, dying in side. It wasn’t until years later when a pastor allowed a volunteer opportunity in church bulletins that I found healing through a pregnancy care center.

That encounter has led to countless lives saved. Will you consider faithfully, consistently, speaking a truthful word about abortion? to shepherd and take care of a hurting body? Isn’t it, along with teaching the Word of God, part of what you were called to anyways? Please contact your local pregnancy care center and find out how you can partner with them. They can be a great resource for you. I believe you will find it to be a a treasured relationship.

If you are reading this and you serve in a ministry that provides post abortion healing, get ready! Pray. Stand in position.  I do believe God is going to bring you many to nurture and guide to the healing and freedom in Jesus Christ.

Overall, my conclusion is this film has supercharged my passion in what I am daily called to do. It has made me more determined (which I didn’t think was possible) to see the end of abortion… and what might be God’s plan in all of this? I believe He is paving the way. All the events surrounding abortion and this movie is hitting many like a tidal wave only to carry us into a pool of healing.

Isn’t it His ultimate plan to restore and reconcile all mankind, whom He created, to Himself anyways? oh yes it is! He is building His Kingdom. He is giving every opportunity to spend eternity with Him in a beautiful place called Heaven through a relationship with His son Jesus Christ. See Romans 10:9

And as far as our Creator…

“For you formed my inward parts You covered me in my mother’s womb.”

Psalm 139:13

This verse proves that personhood does exist from the moment of conception. The words confirm God’s knowledge of every life from pre-embryonic stage through death. God’s character goes into the creation of every person. “Your hands have made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.” Psalm 119:73

The depth of this Psalm speaks that we belong to God. He formed us and our mothers were blessed and chosen to carry us. Just as Jesus belong to Him, He chose young Mary to carry and give birth to Jesus. We belong to God. He formed, created, and covered us in our mother’s womb. The very truth of this is why abortion is so painful to God.

The unborn are known intimately and called out by God. Jeremiah 1:5 says, ” Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born; I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Also the unborn possesses personal characteristics from the moment God knits them together, from the moment of conception. God looks upon the unborn as fully human.

The verse means properly to weave, knit together-meaning God carefully weaved our very parts together. It also implies protection. Once He created us He concealed us with a covering. There is such an ownership and creative design here. As our creator, before we are even born He knows the innermost of our being. He knows our thoughts, feelings, intentions. This is a beautiful thought. It is indeed a miracle only of God.

“Oh Father God, we thank you for the miracle of creating us. We thank you for your beautiful design. We thank you for your love. In Jesus name, Amen.”
