An Audience of 1!

Updated: Apr 13, 2022

Hi Friends!

This past week my family was on vacation enjoying a beautiful lake home in South Carolina. I started my day with prayer walks. The praise music coming through my ear phones was heavenly. It was as if no one else existed but me and my Heavenly Father. As I walked along I lifted my hands in worship and imagined what it would be like in His presence. I was so lost in the moment, I didn’t realize I was in the middle of the road and that there was a truck full of construction workers behind me patiently waiting for me to move! Thankfully they were kind and just waved as I made my way off the road. A little embarrassment sat in, but quickly I laughed as I realized I was worshipping an audience of 1. I was enthroned by His Glory, His beauty all around me and He was enthroned with me. It was such a place of contentment and I wanted to stay there forever.

I started to ponder this deeper. He is the primary audience of our whole life. He loves us and has good plans for us. Along with an audience of 1 comes the approval of only 1. The construction workers probably didn’t approve of me being in the road, but in that moment I had the greatest approval of all and thankfully He prompted me to look behind me when I did, lol.

Sometimes it’s ok to look foolish- foolish things are sometimes God things. Care less about what people think and more about what God thinks. I’m in a season of learning more about myself than ever before. Each of us have a deep desire to discover the meaning and purpose of our lives. Having a clear vision and direction for each season we are in can have a big impact on the days ahead. I’m looking forward to the days ahead, because the more I focus on my audience of 1, the more clear things become!

I pray Psalm 16:11 over you- “you will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

Father, you are the only one I seek to please, all of me desires to please only you my audience of 1.

In Jesus name, amen.

Jeannie
