You are Known and Loved

Updated: Apr 13, 2022

“Oh Lord, You have searched me and known me.” Psalm 139:1

Sometimes we don’t let people get to know us completely because we are afraid they will discover something about us they won’t like. It certainly was the case with me and my abortion experience. I hid it deeply. It was my greatest secret. I wanted to be liked, loved, approved. I had spent my childhood and young adult life desiring this. The painful secret of my abortion would surely disqualify me from these desires, at least that is what I thought.

Then one day, God gave me the opportunity to search and know Him. When I discovered His full character, it changed my life and relationship with Him. The truth is God already knows everything about us. He knows the numbers of hairs on our head-Matt. 10:30. He knew all about my abortion. He was there. My baby went immediately into His presence. Although my sin of abortion broke His heart and disregarded the plans He had for my life at the time, God still looked upon me with nothing but love, His love.

I am deeply comforted by this and I pray you are. God knows the secrets of your heart-Psalm 44:21 and He loves you and accepts you all the same. He knows who you are in public, He knows who you are in secret. He knows your fears, desires, hopes, regrets, pain, sin, and dreams.

He doesn’t accept our sin, but He does accept us, and forgives our sin. God is all seeing, all knowing, all Holy, all present. God knows us like no other. He KNOWS us, and His greatest gift is to allow us to know Him!

“Oh Father God, We praise you and thank you for searching our hearts. You know all our hopes and fears. Thank you for knowing us and loving us. May we lift up a song of praise that flows. We will try to use the words we know to tell you what an awesome God you are, but when words are not enough, to tell you of our love, listen to our hearts. In Jesus name, Amen.”
